Tsingy of Bemaraha

The city of water of Antsirabe with its brewery, the « Allée des Baobab » in Morondava, the Tsingy of Bemaraha and the Manambolo gorges are the highlights of this tour. The south of the Island will also give the opportunity to see the rarest Golden Bamboo lemur and several families of Ring Tailed lemur in the Anja Park. The trip will end in the most captivating landscape in Madagascar inside the park of Isalo with its colored eroded rock formations.

Day 1: Antananarivo
You will meet the guide and the driver at the airport and then you will be transferred to your hotel.
Day 2: Antananarivo – Antsirabe
After breakfast, we will drive south till Antsirabe, the third largest city in Madagascar. In the afternoon, we will visit the brewery.
Day 3: Antsirabe – Morondava
Early in the morning, we will leave Antsirabe to reach Miandrivazo, where we will have lunch in a restaurant. In the afternoon we will drive to Morondava.
Day 4: Morondava – Bekopaka
Today we will watch the sunrise over the wonderful « Allée des Baobab ». We keep heading nord to arrive to reach Belo sur Tsiribihina around lunch time. After lunch we will follow the side road leading us to the river of Manambolo and then to the village of Bekopaka.
Day 5: Bekopaka
After breakfast, we will start the exploration through the imposing gorges of Manambolo with traditional canoes, and then we end with small Tsingy.
Day 6: Bekopaka
Time for us to discover the Tsingy of Bemaraha National Park, the second largest protected area in the Island.

Day 7: Bekopaka – Morondava
Today we will leave Bekopaka and drive back to Belo sur Tsiribihina.
Day 8: Morondava – Antsirabe
We will travel back to the highland leaving the western side of Madagascar.
Day 9: Antsirabe
Today we will discover the Vakinankaratra region by visiting the historical lake of Tritriva. Afterward we will make a tour inside the manufactory called STAR to see how the biggest brewery in Madagascar operates to support the entire national and international requirement.
Day 10: Antsirabe – Ranomafana
In the morning, we will drive to Ambositra passing by the ‘col des tapia’, a fire resistant tree. Once we will arrive in Ambositra, we visit a workshop where « Zafimaniry art » are worked and exposed. We will arrive in the village of Ranomafana late in the afternoon and we will get ready for the night walk.
Day 11: Ranomafana
We will have half a day to explore the Ranomafana National Park. In the afternoon we will have the possibility to visit the Tanala village, or swimming at the thermal swimming pool or practicing kayak along the Namorona River.
Day 12: Ranomafana – Ambalavao
We leave the rainforest and drive back to the highland, short visit of the city of Fianarantsoa. We drive south to reach Ambalavao.
Day 13: Ambalavao – Isalo
After breakfast we will visit a workshop of natural silk and Antemoro paper. Then we will reach the Anja reserve to meet several families of ring-tailed lemur. We will continue onto Ranohira, our destination for this day.
Day 14: Isalo
Quite early in the morning we will leave the hotel and spend a full day exploring the Isalo National Park; a vast region of wind-polished and water sources rock towers boarded and surrounded by pandanus aquatic plants, deep canyons dated back to the Jurassic, gorges and oases often described as Eden.
Day 15: Isalo – Tulear – Ifaty
We will continue to the south, passing by the sapphire village of Ilakaka. We will make a short stop to see Malagasy endemic stones and the sapphire mine. Visit of the national park of Zombitse – Vohibasia, a very special forest of particular interest for to birdwatchers. Arrived in Tulear, we visit the reserve of Reniala near the village of Mangily in the nord of Tulear.
Day 16: Ifaty
Free day for optional activities (diving snorkeling, traditional canoe trip…).

Day 17: Ifaty
Free day for optional activities.

Day 18: Ifaty – Tulear – Antananarivo
Today we will be transferred to the airport of Tulear to take the flight to Antananarivo. Arrived in the city we will be picked up and transferred to our hotel.
